The genus Hippeastrum covers a large number of hybrids, commonly known as Amaryllis. However, in botanic terms, Amaryllis is a different genus of this family.

Myrtus communis, Myrtaceae Family - begining of September - Benavente, Portugal.
Evergreen shrub (or small tree) up to 5 metres; scented leaves and flowers; highly drought tolerant and usually away from chalky soils; native to and frequent in the Centre and South of Portugal.

A species of the genus Crinum (probably C. moorei) of the Amaryllidaceae family. Begining of June - private garden in Lisbon, Portugal.
